Global Reach and Partnerships

The Mastercard Foundation operates in numerous countries and collaborates with various partners, including governments, non-profits, and other stakeholders. These partnerships help to leverage resources and expertise, ensuring that initiatives reach the communities that need them the most. By fostering a collaborative approach, the Mastercard Foundation significantly amplifies its impact, working towards a world where everyone has the opportunity to prosper.

The Mastercard Foundation, in collaboration with Arizona State University (ASU), is offering graduate scholarships to empower 120 young African professionals over five years (2025 – 2030) with master’s degrees in various fields. This immersive, on-campus program focuses on technology and innovation to prepare the next generation of leaders for Africa’s growing digital economy.

For the 2025/2026 academic year, 30 fully funded scholarships are available. These scholarships will cover full tuition, accommodation, and other essential expenses for the two-year master’s program.

Beyond financial support, Scholars will also engage in leadership development, mentorship, and various activities as part of the broader Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at ASU.

During the academic year, Scholars can work part-time on campus with the Baobab Platform or other departments at ASU. Between their first and second year, Scholars will participate in a two-month, Africa-based internship aligned with their field of study. A key goal of this scholarship is for graduates to return to their home countries and contribute to their communities’ social and economic development.

This program encourages women, refugees, displaced persons, and individuals with disabilities to apply. ASU is dedicated to creating an inclusive learning environment, ensuring accessibility for all students.
